Zemzem

Zemzem is the name of a well at Mecca accounted sacred by the Mohammedans. It is said to have been formed from the spring of water which God pointed out to Hagar and Ishmael when they were driven from the house of Abraham and compelled to flee into Arabia. The Mohammedan pilgrims drink of its waters and believe it to be effectual in healing diseases, and even in purifying the soul.
