Gazera

Gaze'ra the name of a place and also of a man in the Apocrypha.

1. (τὰ Γάζηρα v.r. Γάσηρα,Vulg. Gazeron, Gazara), the town of Palestine (1 Macc. 4:15; 7:45), elsewhere called GAZARA SEE GAZARA (q.v.).

2. (Καζηρά v.r. Γαζηρά, Vulg. Gaze), one of the Temple-servants whose "sons" returned from Babylon (1 Esdro 5:31); evidently the GAZZAM SEE GAZZAM (q.v.) of the Heb. text (Ezr 2:48).
