Deputitus In the Greek Church those not ordained, but nominated, to the minor services of the Church were called the Theori, those in charge of the sacred vestments; the Camisati, those attending to the vessels in the altar-service; and Deputati, those who, carrying lighted tapers, in the processions preceded the deacon who bore the book of the gospels or the oblations.
