Dale, Jonathan an English Congregational minister, was born at Goostrey, Cheshire, August 11, 1827. He joined the Wesleyans; studied at Richmond College; was preacher for nearly four years at Leicester; then united with the Independents; and in 1855 became pastor at Hallaton and Slawston, in Leicestershire. In 1859 he removed to Heanor; and in 1867 became pastor of the united churches of Repton and Barrow, where he remained until his death, May 29, 1872. See (Lond.) Cong. Year-book, 1873, page 322.
