Colburn, Samuel W.

a Congregational minister, was born in Lebanon, N.H., about 1785. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1808, was ordained at West Taunton, Massachusetts, August 29, 1809, and remained there until December 9, 1812. For some months he performed missionary labor in the state of Rhode Island. His health having been restored, he became pastor of the Third Church in East Abington, Massachusetts, October 13, 1813, and remained until February 5, 1830. His subsequent pastorates, which were not of long duration, were at Newark, N.J., West Attleboro, and Sandwich, Mass., and Little Campton, R.I. He died in New York city, December 19, 1854.
