Wulfred, Archbishop of Canterbury

Wulfred, archbishop Of Canterbury was nominated by Ethelhard, and was the first occupant of that important office. His consecration took place in August, 805, and it is said that, although he held the archbishopric for more than twenty-eight years, he did nothing worthy of record. He died March 24, 832. See Hook, Lives of the Archbishops of Canterbury, 1:270 sq.
