Wells, Edward Livingston, D.D.

a Protestant Episcopal clergyman, began his regular ministry in 1860, as pastor of the Church of Our Saviour, Plainville, Connecticut; the following year became rector of Calvary Church, Louisville, Kentucky; in 1865 went to Pittsfield, Massachusetts, as rector of St. Stephen's Church, and remained there until 1871, when he became rector of Trinity Church, Southport, Conn., and here he continued to reside until 1879, part of the time without charge, and afterwards as minister of St. John's Church, New Milford, where he died, August 7,1880, aged forty-six years.
