Watching Loft

Watching Loft is an apartment over the aisle, sacristy, or porch of a Church or cathedral, from which the great shrines were observed by the watchers of the Church. Such lofts remain at Nuremberg, Germany; and at Oxford, Lichfield, St. Albans, Westminster, Exeter, Hereford, and other places in England.
