Stymphalia

Stymphalia, in Grecian mythology, a surname of Artemis, or Diana, derived from the town of Stymphalus, in Arcadia, where a temple was erected to this goddess. It contained her image in wood, heavily gilded, and also one of the Stymphalides whom Hercules slew (Pausan. 8, 22, 5; Apollod. 2, 5, 2, etc.).
