Steele, Samuel, Dd

Steele, Samuel, D.D., a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church, was born in the city of Londonderry, Ireland, May 21, 1821. He came to this country, and entered the Methodist ministry. He was appointed chaplain of the Seventh Regiment, West Virginia Volunteer Infantry, and served until the close of the war. He was a member of the West Virginia Conference, and served as presiding elder, secretary of the conference three times, and as delegate to the General Conference of 1872. He died May 24, 1886.
