Showalter, Wesley M

Showalter, Wesley M., a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church, was born in Clearfield County, Pa., Feb. 24, 1831. When ten years of age he was converted, and entered the ministry in 1855 as a member of the East Baltimore Conference. His last appointment was Bedford, which he was obliged, by reason of failing health, to relinquish in the fall of 1865. He removed to Salona, Clinton Co., Pa., where he died, Nov. 27, 1865. As a preacher he was discriminating, candid, and direct. See Minutes of Annual Conferences, 1866, p. 10.
