Seehuana Version.

The Sechuana occupies a prominent place in the great Caffre family of languages, and is the most important of all languages of Southern Africa. The first portion of the Seehuana version- committed to the press was the Gospel of St. Luke, printed at Cape Town in 1831, under the personal superintendence of Mr. Moffat. In 1841 the whole New Test. was printed in London at the expense of the British and Foreign Bible Society, under the eye of the translator. From thai time on Mr. Moffat devoted himself to the translation of the Old Test., which was completed in 1859. A revision of the entire Bible was commenced in 1870 and completed in 1877. Up to March 30, 1878, 7066 Bibles and 10,094 New Testaments with Psalms have been distributed. Comp. The Bible of Every Land, but more especially the Annual Reports of the British and Foreign Bible Society, which are the only sources for the more recent versions published since the preparation of The Bible of Every Land.
