Rohini, in Hindu mythology, is the name of one of the daughters of Daksha, said to be the favorite wife of Chandra (or the Moon, which in Sanscrit, as in German, is masculine). She is the bright star of the Bull's eye, called in Arabic Aldebaran (or Al Dabarhn). Other stars regarded as the sisters of Rohini are also numbered among the wives of Chandra.
