Pilot

Pilot (חֹבֵל, chobel, Eze 27:8,27-29), literally a steersman, a mariner, is also rendered in our version (Jon 1:6) "ship-master;" but in the passage in Ezekiel it is used in a figurative sense for the chief rulers or counsellors of the Tyrians. SEE SHIP.
