Phoebus, William

Phoebus, William a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in Somerset County, Maryland, August 1754. In 1783 he was admitted to the Conference, and preached in various places until 1798, when he located in the city of New York, entering upon the practice of medicine. In 1806 he was readmitted into the New York Conference, laboring effectively till 1821, after which time he was either supernumerary or superannuated. He died in New York November 9, 1831.
