Phillips, Zebulon

Phillips, Zebulon a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born at Amsterdam, N.Y., in 1808. He joined the Troy Conference in 1834, and served as pastor until 1848, when he became presiding elder of the Troy district. During this period he was also a member of the book committee, and in 1852 was appointed assistant agent of the Methodist Book Concern in New York city. In 1856 he became agent of the Troy University, and in 1860 entered into business. He died February 8, 1885. See Minutes of Annual Conferences (Spring), 1886, page 100.
