Paulitae an obscure sect of the Acephali, followers of Paul, a patriarch of Alexandria, who was deposed by a council (A.D. 541) for his uncanonical consecration by the patriarch of Constantinople, and who after his deposition sided with the Monophysites (Nicephorus, Hist. Eccles. c. xlix). The Paulitse are mentioned under the name of Paulianists in the treatise on the reception of heretics which was written by Timothy. of Constantinople (Timoth. De Triplici Recept. lueret. in Cotelerii Monument. 3:377).
