Owen, Francis A., D.D.

a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, was born in Brunswick County, Virginia, February 8, 1804. In 1822 he entered the Tennessee Conference, in which and in the St. Louis Conference (after 1874) he served efficiently as preacher, missionary to the Indians, and editor of the Memphis Christian Advocate (1854), until compelled to take a supernumerary and finally a superannuate relation.
