Nance, John

Nance, John an Anglican clergyman, flourished in the early part of this century. He was educated at Oxford, and became fellow of Worcester College. He then took holy orders, and was made rector of Old Romney. Later he became master of the grammar-school at Ashford, Kent. He died after 1816. He published Sermons on various subjects (1807, 8vo): — A Letter from a Country Clergyman to his Parishioners, on the Arguments and Practices of some of the Modern Dissenters (1809, 8vo): — An Address to the Mlembers of the Church of England (1811, 8vo).
