Mensa Dei

Mensa Dei (the Lord's table), a term which has immediate reference to the Lord's Supper. The opposition between the expressions, "table of the Lord" and "table of daemons" (see 1 Corinthians 11), at once marks it out as a table set apart for sacred purposes. SEE ALTAR; SEE TABLE.
