Lyon, George Armstrong, D.D.

a Presbyterian minister, was born at Baltimore, Maryland, March 1, 1806. He graduated from Dickinson College, Pennsylvania, in 1824; spent one year in Princeton Theological Seminary, and was ordained by the Erie Presbytery, September 9, 1829, pastor of the First Church, Erie, Pennsylvania, which office he held until his death, at Avon, N.Y., March 24, 1871.
