Lawrence, Francis Effingham, D.D.

a Protestant Episcopal clergyman, was a graduate of St. Paul's College, at College Point, N.Y., and in 1852 of the General Theological Seminary; in 1853 he was assistant minister of the Church of the Holy Communion, New York city, and remained such until 1859, when he was chosen rector, and continued in that relation until his death, June 11, 1879, at the age of fifty-three years.
