Jaminite

Ja'minite (Nu 26:12). SEE JAXIN, 1. Jam'lech (Heb. Yamlek', יָמלֵך, kingly; Sept. Α᾿μαλήχ v. r. Α᾿μαλήκ, Ι᾿εμολόχ; Vulg. Jealech), a chieftain (נָשַׂיא) of the tribe of Simeon, apparently one of those whose family increased so greatly that they invaded the valley of Gedor in the time of Hezekiah, and dispossessed the Hamites (1Ch 4:34). B.C. cir. 711.
