Jacobites (2)

Jacobites the adherents of James II of England, particularly the non-jurors, who separated from the high Episcopal Church simply because they would not take the oath of allegiance to the new king, and who in the public services prayed for the Stuart family. They were most numerous in Scotland, but were much lessened by the defeat of the Pretender in 1745, and still more so by his death in 1788. SEE NON-JURORS.

Bible concordance for JACOB.
