Irham-melach

Ir-ham-Melach (עַיר הִמֵּלַח, city of the salt, so called prob. from the salt rocks still found in that vicinity; Sept. ἡ πόλις τῶν ἁλῶν,Vulg. civitas salis, Auth. Vers. "City of Salt"), a city in the Desert of Judah, mentioned between Nibshan and En-gedi (Jos 15:62); probably situated near the south-western part of the Dead Sea. Compare the "Valley of Salt" (2Sa 8:13; Ps 60:2).
