Henry, Robert (1), D.D.

a Scotch Presbyterian divine, was born at Muirtown, St. Ninian's, Stirlingshire, February 18, 1718. He was educated at the University of Edinburgh; licensed to preach in 1746, and officiated at Carlisle from 1748 to 1760. and at Berwick-upon-Tweed from 1760 to 1763. He was minister of the church of the New Greyfriars from 1763 to 1776. In 1774 he was moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. He died November 24, 1790.
