Hatfield, Thomas an English prelate, was prebendary of Lincoln (1342) and York (1343), and was promoted to the see of Durham in 1345. He died near London, May 8, 1381. He was the principal benefactor, if not the founder, of the friary at Northallerton, in Yorkshire, for Carmelites, or White Friars. See Chalmers, Biog. Dict. s.v.
