Hall, Gordon, Jr., D.D.

a Congregational minister, was born in Bombay, India, November 4, 1823. After preparatory study at Ellington, Conn., he graduated from Yale College in 1843, and from Yale Divinity School in 1847. After a term of service as tutor in the college, he was ordained pastor of the Church in Wilton, October 25, 1848, and June 2, 1852, became pastor of Edwards Church, Northampton, Massachusetts, and so continued until his death at Binghamton, N.Y., November 5, 1879. From 1870 he was a corporate member of the American Commissioners for Foreign Missions; was a trustee of Williston Seminary; and from 1878 was visitor of Andover Theological Seminary. See Cong.
