Greenleaf, Patrick Henry, D.D.

a minister of the Protestant Episcopal Church, was a native of Maine, and a son of the Hon. Simon Greenleaf. After graduating at Bowdoin College, he practiced law for several years; but turning his attention to the ministry;

pursued his theological studies under bishop Doane, and was duly ordained. He was connected successively with the dioceses of Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana. For several years he was rector of St. John's, Charlestown, Massachusetts; also of St. Paul's, Cincinnati, Ohio; and in 1862 of Emanuel Church, Brooklyn, in which city he died, June 21, 1869, at the age of sixty-two years.
