Gessel, Bernhard Friedrich

Gessel, Bernhard Friedrich a Protestant theologian of Germany, was born April 6, 1811, at Dantzic, studied at Konigsberg, where Herbart especially attracted him. In 1838 he was called as military preacher to Thorn, in West Prussia, and died there, March 14, 1881. Gessel belonged, to the Liberals of the Protestant Church. He wrote very little.
