Gallus, C. Vibius Trebonianus Roman emperor (early history unknowns), was elected to the throne A.D. 251. His reign was disgraced by concessions to the Goths, and by a renewal of the persecution of the Christians. SEE PERSECUTION. He was assassinated A.D. 253 or 254.
