Fast of the Holy Apostles

Fast Of The Holy Apostles a fast observed by the Greek Church in imitation of the apostles, who, they suppose, prepared themselves by fasting and prayer for going forth to proclaim the gospel message. This fast commences the week after Whitsuntide, and continues till the festival of St. Peter and St. Paul. Past Synods, a name given to Christian synods in ancient times, which met on fast weeks.
