Encheirium

Encheirium (ἐγχείριον) is the napkin with which the priest wipes his hands, and which he wears at the girdle. Germanus of Constantinople describes it as above, and says that "to have a napkin at the girdle is typical of him who washed his hands and said, 'I am innocent' (Mt 27:24)."
