Dini, Pietro

Dini, Pietro an Italian prelate, was born at Florence about 1570. He studied belles- lettres, and, while young, was made member of the Academy de la Crusca. In 1621 he succeeded cardinal Bondini, his uncle, in the archiepiscopal see of Fermo, and died in 1625. His fine library, which was particularly rich in Italian MSS. of the 13th and 14th centuries, has now passed over to the Bibliotheca Magliabecchiana. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
