Davis, Seth

Davis, Seth a Protestant Episcopal clergyman, was born at Providence, R.I., July 18, 1802. He graduated at Hobart College in 1827; took the course at the General Theological Seminary; was ordained deacon in 1833, officiating at Seneca Falls, N.Y.; became rector of Trinity Church, Cleveland, Ohio, where he was ordained presbyter, and remained four years; returned to western New York, laboring in several parishes, and a part of the time engaged in teaching; in 1854 went to Connecticut, and took charge of the parishes in Woodbury, North Haven, and Northfurd; in 1857 was pastor at Monroe, where he died, July 6, 1862.
