Dante, Girolamo a Venetian pairnter, was a scholar of Titian, and painted from his own designs. There is a line altar-piece, by him, in the Church of San Giovauni Nuovo at Venice. He flourished in the first part of the 16th century. See Spooner, Biog. Hist. of the Fine Arts, s.v.; Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
