Curia, Francesco

Curia, Francesco a Neapolitan painter, was born in 1538, and was a pupil of Gio. Filippo Criscuolo; afterwards visited Rome, where he studied the works of Raphael. On his return to Naples he painted for the churches there. His masterpiece was a grand picture of The Crucifixion, in the Chiesa della Pieta. He died in 1610.
