Craighead, Alexander a Presbyterian minister, was born in Pennsylvania. He was licensed by Donegal Presbytery in 1734, and sent to Middle Octorara and "over the river." He was ordained November 18, 1735, but disputes arising from a difference of views, he was suspended. He joined Newcastle Presbytery in 1754; met with Hanover Presbytery in 1757, and was sent to Rocky River, in North Carolina, and to other vacancies. He died in March, 1766.
