Cowden, James

Cowden, James a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in May 1836. He received an early religious training; experienced conversion in 1853, and in 1855 entered the Rock River Conference. In 1858 he removed to Minnesota for the improvement of his health, but continued effective, and six years later returned and united with the Central Illinois Conference, wherein he served zealously to the close of his life, March 22, 1871.
