Cotton, Nathaniel
Cotton, Nathaniel an English physician and poet, was born in 1707. He studied medicine at Leyden under Boerhave; established an asylum for lunatics first at Dunstable, Bedfordshire, and afterwards at St. Albans, and died August 2, 1788. Besides two medical books, he published Visions in Verse (1751, and since). His works, both in verse and prose, were edited by his son (1791, 2 volumes).
