Cortasse, Pierre Joseph

Cortasse, Pierre Joseph a French theologian, was born at Apt, May 21, 1681. He entered the Jesuit order; taught grammar, rhetoric, philosophy, positive theology, and Hebrew in the colleges of his order; and. for fourteen years devoted himself to preaching. He died at Lyons, March 24, 1740, leaving, Traite des Noms Divins Traduit du Grec de Saint-Denis I'Areopagite (Lyons, 1739). See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
