Colmar, Joseph Ludwig

Colmar, Joseph Ludwig a Roman Catholic theologian of Germany, was born at Strasburg, June 22, 1760. Having received holy orders, he was appointed professor at the royal college of his native place. In 1802 he was made bishop of Mayence, and died December 15, 1818. Besides sermons and pastoral letters, he published Senentiae S. Ignatii pro Quolibet die Mensis Distributae (Mayence, 1809-12).
