Colmar, Johann

Colmar, Johann a Lutheran theologian, was born at Nuremberg, June 19, 1684. He studied at Altdorf, where, in 1709, he became magister, on presenting his De Stoicorum et Peripateticorum Circa Gradum Necessitatis Honorum Externorum ad Summam Becatitudinem Disceptatione. Having completed his studies at Jena, he was appointed, in 1715, inspector of the alumni at Altdorf. In 1719 he was called to his native place as rector of the hospital- school, and died April 2, 1737. He wrote, Antihenoticon seu de Causa Negati Lutheranos Inter et Calvinianos Unionis Successus Disquisitio Methodo Mathematica Instituta (1714): — Disp. de Summa Judaeorum Astorgia, ad Mich. 2:5 (1716): — De Affectuum Caussis (1719).
