Coles, John
Coles, John an English Baptist minister, was born at Luton, Bedfordshire, in 1782. He was ordained November 5, 1813, pastor at Poplar, Middlesex, and remained there until 1818. His next settlement was at Workingham, Berkshire, where he remained from 1819 to 1839. Besides performing his home duties, he labored extensively in the 'neighboring villages. On completing his term of service, he retired from ministerial labor. He died in London, January 9, 1842. See (Lond.) Baptist Hand-book, 1842, page 24. (J.C.S.)
