Colbert, Jacques Nicolas

Colbert, Jacques Nicolas, Roman Catholic archbishop of Rouen, of the same family, was born at Paris in 1654, was made archbishop at an early age, and was noted in his administration for his tolerance of the Reformed. He was one of the first members of the Academy of Inscriptions and Belles-Lettres. He died Dec. 10, 1707. — Hoefer, Nouvelle Biographie Generale, 11:112.
