Cobarrubias, Alonzo De

Cobarrubias, Alonzo De an eminent Spanish architect, flourished about 1450. He first introduced Roman architecture into Spain; erecting, among other works, the magnificent cathedral of Toledo, and, at Valentia, the monastery and temple of the order of San Girolamo.
