Clerks Of St. Majolus a religious order of the sixteenth century in Italy, founded by Jerome AEmilianus, and approved by Paul III in 1540 and by Paul IV in 1542. They gave themselves to the religious instruction of the young and the ignorant. SEE SOMASCHIANS.
