Chieslie, John (3)

a Scotch clergyman, was licensed to preach in 1754; presented to the living at Abercrombie in 1756; ordained in 1757; and transferred to Corstorphine in 1758. He introduced the paraphrases into public worship, which offended some of the people; and they formed a. secession congregation at Sighthill. He died June 12, 1788. See Fasti Eccles.
