Chester, John (1), an English Independent, was minister at Wetherly, Leicestershire, some years; was violently dispossessed after 1660; came to London and preached in Christ-Church till ejected, in 1662.: He ministered for some years at the Independent Church, Union Street; went up with the address to the king in 1687, and died at Guildford, Surrey, in May, 1696. Dr.
