Charteris (or Charters), Charles, Am

Charteris (Or Charters), Charles, A.M., a Scotch clergyman, took his degree at Edinburgh University in 1697; was licensed to preach in 1701; appointed to the living at Arbirlot in 1702, and ordained. He was deposed by the presbytery in August, 1728, but the sentence was reversed by the assembly in 1729. ' He died in December, the same year, aged about fifty-three years. See Fasti Eccles.
